Cumberland River Campground & Outfitters….. and CABINS!!!

Pros:
It is secluded from the “main” road and is gated.
There are 6 Full hookup RV sites. They are back ins located along the river. Each campsite has a very nice “front yard space”.
We were in site #2 and had plenty of space with a nice view of the river.
The Millers had site #1 which has a larger yard with views of an open field thru a tree line and the river.
Here is the same site at night with a fire burning.
The hookups are all located at the rear of the gravel sites. Each site has a garbage can, a picnic table and fire ring also.
There was a small grove of trees behind our sights where we hung our hammocks in a triangle.
They also have a floating dock on the river and offer kayak rentals. Our girls loved swimming off the dock. In this photo the river is very murky, there had been extensive rain and some slight flooding in the area the week before we arrived. It normal does not look so muddy.
There a stairs and railing leading to the dock from the river walk.
It is clean and well laid out. The location is great, it is within a short 10 to 15 minute drive from Williamsburg Ky from I-75. There are restaurants and grocery stores located at Williamsburg to stock up before arriving, since there is a Pilot station there Diesel is easily accessible as well.
There is a common area in the center of the campground with playground equipment and a pavilion. The kids in the campground spent nearly the entire weekend here.. day and night! It can easily be seen from any campsite.
The river walk behind the campers, along the front of the cabins is very peaceful and inviting.
The owners are super friendly and very accommodating. They sell homemade goods in the office store like … Ice Cream, Peanut butter Fudge, and so much more!
I recently had to replace my cellphone and lost several pictures of the campground. We will be returning for Halloween and will be sure to update the review.
Cons:
The only con we found was the SECRET IS OUT.……… It is more than likely already booked for when you might need an RV site. It is small they currently have 6 sites and 2 cabins.. so now that the secret is out it is getting a lot of attention. But make sure you call and check there might be a cancellation for your dates.
Interesting facts:
Don’t have a camper… No problem. They have cabins!
Directly on the Cumberland River. They rent kayaks and will drop you off at 2, 4 , 6 & 8 hour point to kayak back to there floating dock. They also provide life jackets.
At the front of the campground is an open park area, in the center of the drive. It has playground equipment, a rolling tube, cornhole, and is open to anyone.
