Traveling on a moments notice… (or not!)
It’s not for me. I am not a spur of the moment traveler, I envy those who are. I like to plan our trips in advance months, weeks, and sometimes years. For example, our trip this coming Thanksgiving was booked on July 10, 2017! That is 499 days or 1 year 4 and 1/2 months in advance!
I like to research an area. I like to know what I am going into instead of just going with the flow. I have been on a couple of “go with the flow” trips, there enjoyable but they leave me feeling like I missed out. There is nothing wrong with a trip like that, they just aren’t my still.
I worry .. what if we arrive and there are no sites available for the camper? What if there is nothing to entertain us? No restaurants we would like? Is the area safe? what if this? what if that? My brain goes into to over drive and I panic. I am panicking just thinking about it. Sooo moving on..
I am busy researching our next adventures. I already have several trips on the books for us this spring and summer. Nashville, Washington, Virginia Creeper Trail, Cumberland Gap National Park, Lincoln’s Birthplace..
If you too are not a “go with the flow” traveler here are a few resources I use to plan our adventures:
You can purchase them NG Guide to National Parks and NG Guide to Scenic Highways and Byways.
To Purchase NG Road Atlas Adventure Edition
To Purchase The Next Exit 2018
I will talk about the apps I use when traveling in another post. But for now.. Happy Camping!!
