Our site was #47 it was a nice level concrete pad for the camper and the picnic table. Each site has a separate parking space by the picnic table. Another thing we really found useful was the electric and water hookups.. These were located in one lighted post. We arrived after dark and this made setup a breeze!
The beach are was wonderful. It was clean and private, the sunrise and the sunsets there were amazing!!
I find it hard to list the Pros of Dellanera the list seems endless.
YES you read that price correctly!!! $205 for a week, ocean front, with FULL hookups and FAST, Really Fast WIFI!!!!
The location is within minutes of great dining, fun at the boardwalk and an easy drive to Houston. The campground itself sits high behind the dunes, which provides beautiful views of the ocean. There was a board walk to the beach across the dunes centrally located in the middle of the campground directly across from the main building.
The main building included the bath/shower. The showers were nice and large with a private curtain area separating the shower from the main room. They were clean and updated. In the Laundry room they a folding table, chairs, 6 machines and 4 dryers. Also in good condition and working efficiently. The laundry is on the 2nd floor and has glass front doors, this provide a nice view while waiting on our laundry.
The main building upstairs area had a porch with picnic tables over looking the campground and beach.
The staff were very friendly and helpful on the rare occasion we needed them. Trash can were located thru out the campground and were frequently emptied. Did not see any loose trash on the grounds the entire stay, despite it being very windy during the trip.
Another thing we really found useful was the electric and water hookups.. These were located in one lighted post. We arrived after dark and this made setup a breeze!
Someone called the sites close together but we felt they were just right. We spent most of our time out exploring or at the beach.
Dellanera is owned & operated by the Galveston Island Parks Board.
It is located at the end of the seawall, it’s beach area is between another private beach and a public beach. Which means it is not very crowded! We basically had the beach to our selves all week.
