Tacos – Camping Meal? ABSOLUTELY!
Most people don’t think of tacos as a meal for camping… we do! There are only so many times you can eat hotdogs and hamburgers from the grill before it gets old. My family LOVES tacos, nachos, fajitas, or just about any mexican meal! Tacos are a super easy & quick meal when camping..
Items you will need:
Hamburger Meat ( 2lbs) 2 Taco Seasoning Water Taco Shells – Crunchy or soft.. or both Elite Pressure cooker or can be done in a skillet Mix & Chop or Spatula Optional items : Lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream, and salsa.
We are again, as you see we are using our 4 quart elite. This thing is honestly my go to when camping. ( You can order one here.. Elite 4quart . At the time I am posting this they are on sale for $57.10 for the black.. I paid nearly TWICE that.)
In the Elite pressure cooker it is very simple! Plus it offers a less mess, one pot clean up. No need to burn thru any propane.
Step one: Turn the unit on in Brown/Saute mode
Step Two: Tear apart meat and add to the pot
Step Three: Chop and turn the meat until browned. ( I use a Pampered Chef Mix and Chop.. purchased HERE. )
Step Four: Drain grease. In our camper I drain grease into old green cans then trash. (WARNING: NEVER DRAIN GREASE IN YOUR CAMPER SINK. Hot grease can damage your campers plumbing. Grease in your holding tanks can cause odors and other in issues.)
Step Five: Add seasoning and water. ( My personal favorite is Old El Paso. Which I buy in the large size bulk packaging from HERE.)
Step Six: Cook down until water is gone.
Step Seven: Serve with taco shells or over chips as nachos! With lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and salsa. YUM!!
Happy Camping!!
