PAUL B. JOHNSON STATE PARK – Hattiesburg, MS
On our way back from Texas, we stopped here and camped overnight. We didn’t want to boon dock and this campground was located not too far on the interstate. It was a great location and we LOVED this park. We honestly can not wait to go back for a longer stay.
Here is kind of a run down on the campground:
Sewer
Water
Electric
Wifi
30/50 amp
Fire pits
Grill
Picnic table
Sites are mostly level
Has a boat ramp
Nice water views
Has a playground
All for $24 a night!! This is campground is a must!!
If you are going to be in the area or are just looking for a trip near the lake… this is the place! We highly recommended. The campground is clean, wooded and serene. The staff are friendly and the area is perfect for visiting the historic areas of Hattisburg.
A scenic hill shaded by stately pines provides the setting for 125 RV campsites with many of the campsites providing lakefront camping. Picnic tables and grills are located throughout the developed camping area. Campground roads and RV pads are paved. The RV campground features a private beach, lake swimming area, and playground.
