On July 29, 2017 Chris and I drove 3 hours to Hamilton Ohio to purchase our new tow vehicle. A 2006 Ford F-250 crew cab diesel with camper shell. We were planning trips to Texas, Washington DC, and Disney World. So after camping locally for 3 months we knew Chris knew he wanted more power to go camping further from home. We located this gem on AutoTrader. com. She was in great condition and only had 62,500 miles!
Initially we thought we would get home with the camper shell and remove it. However on our first trip after bringing it home, it rained and we realize the camper shell was a huge asset. No need to worry about wet items and it provides a ton of secure storage.
Stepping up has allowed for a safer and more comfortable ride. No more lagging on hills. Every trip south we must cross Jellico Mountain on the Kentucky, Tennessee border our previous tow vehicle would not have handled the load.
Being a crew cab it works great for our family of four. The back seat is spacious and very comfortable. During our trip to Texas our girls had plenty of space to spread out.
